RM mounts an exhibition at one of the most important modern art museums

When it comes to RM, music is only part of the story. BTS's leader has been known for years as a passionate art lover and collector, and he's now bringing that world in front of a wide audience in a way no member of the group has done before. His personal art collection is leaving a private space for the first time and moving into a gallery.

The exhibition is called RM x SFMOMA: Between You and Me, and it opens on October 3, 2026, at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, one of the most respected museums of its kind in the world. It will run through February 7, 2027, and it's the first-ever museum exhibition to showcase works from RM's personal collection. For many fans, it's a chance to get to know a completely different side of the artist they know from the stage.

The exhibition brings together around 200 works, pairing RM's collection with pieces from the museum's own holdings. Special emphasis is placed on modern and contemporary Korean art, much of which has never been publicly exhibited in the United States before. Korean artists whose work appears in RM's collection include Yun Hyong-keun, Park Rehyun, Kwon Okyon, Kim Yun Shin, To Sangbong, and Chang Ucchin. Their pieces will be placed in dialogue with works by international greats like Mark Rothko, Agnes Martin, Henri Matisse, Georgia O'Keeffe, and Paul Klee.

What makes the exhibition special is RM's active role in it. He didn't just lend the works, he's also co-curator, alongside museum specialists Amérika Castillo and Hyoeun Kim, shaping how the pieces are presented. In a statement about the exhibition, he said we live in a time defined by borders, between East and West, Korea and America, modern and contemporary, personal and universal, and that he hopes the exhibition can serve as a small but sturdy bridge.

For ARMY, it's one more piece of proof of just how multi-talented the BTS members are, and how seriously they take their passions outside of music.
