Jin, Gucci, and an unexpected link to Zagreb

Gucci has unveiled a new campaign called Primavera, and one of the ten faces representing it is Jin. The campaign's name comes from Botticelli's Renaissance painting of the same name, which inspired Demna, the house's new creative director, for his first Gucci collection.

Jin was photographed for the campaign by Michal Chelbin, in a series of ten solo portraits focused on each face's clothing and personality. Also appearing in the campaign alongside him are Shawn Mendes, NINGNING, Tom Brady, Xiao Zhan, Lee Young Ae, Alex Consani, and other well-known names.

But the whole story has a connection that's closer to home than we'd expect. Alongside the photos, the campaign is accompanied by a short film, And We Shall Dance Again, shot right here in Zagreb, in the former Hotel I on Lanište.

There were hints something big was brewing back in June. Security staff, production vehicles, and tents appeared around the hotel, and one balcony was covered in heavy black curtains. Word was already going around that Kate Moss was in town, but what exactly was being filmed stayed a secret until now.

Now we know what all that secrecy was for. Kate Moss is the film's leading star, in a long black dress with sequins, joined in a few scenes by Goran Bogdan, in a suit. The film was directed by Johan Renck, known for the series Chernobyl and for his work with David Bowie and Madonna, with Chris Isaak's Wicked Game playing throughout.

We won't find Jin in the Zagreb part of the campaign. His photos and the film with Kate Moss are two separate parts of Primavera, but Jin and Zagreb showing up in the same Gucci campaign definitely caught our attention.
