J-hope's New Tattoo Shows How Much ARMY Means to Him

J-hope has always been the one carrying hope and positivity, so it's no surprise he dedicated his newest tattoo to the fans themselves. At the Los Angeles show on September 2, part of the Arirang tour, he revealed a new tattoo on his thigh, one that means a lot to ARMY specifically.

The design isn't random. The tattoo shows the so-called ARMY pose, the one where the members use their bodies and arms to form the letters A, R, M, and Y, known from the Butter music video. With it, j-hope permanently inked a symbol of the bond between the group and their fans.

The story of how it was revealed is as endearing as the tattoo itself, and it played out twice in one day. Fans first caught a brief glimpse of it at soundcheck before that night's show, when Jimin jokingly tugged at j-hope's shorts to show it off. J-hope looked confused at first, thinking Jimin was brushing dust off his leg, before realizing what he was actually doing.

The real reveal came toward the end of the night itself. While the members were sitting on stage chatting with the crowd, V nudged RM into talking j-hope into showing the tattoo. RM then pointed it out and made sure it was clearly visible on the big screen, calling it the biggest tattoo j-hope has ever gotten, ARMY with BTS, BTS and ARMY. J-hope summed it all up in three words, BTS ARMY forever.

The moment even got a follow-up backstage, where the members recreated that same ARMY pose from Butter, and the photo spread across social media in a flash, taking fans right back to that original moment from the video.

For ARMY, this tattoo is much more than another drawing on skin. They see it as a lasting tribute, similar to those famous matching number-seven tattoos the members share. And it fits everything j-hope is perfectly, since his whole story, starting with his name, revolves around hope, warmth, and connection with the people who follow him.

This isn't his first tattoo with a message, either. Last year he had the line I'm your Hope, you're my Hope inked on his thighs, words that have followed him since the very beginning. Now the ARMY pose has joined his other tattoos.
