The first Agust D mixtape came out on August 15, 2016. Hard to believe, but it's already been ten years. Right on that anniversary, Yoongi went live on Weverse.

Whether he went live because of the anniversary, he didn't say. When commenters reminded him it had been ten years since Agust D, he reacted briefly to it, but the live wasn't just about looking back. He talked casually, about a bit of everything.

He said he's been feeling good and has been watching what he eats lately, and he also talked about Tang. His cat is staying with his parents and now weighs over seven kilograms. Yoongi said his mom deserves some of the blame for that, since she gives him treats, but he immediately jumped to Tang's defense. He's not fat, he said, just big-boned, and he still jumps around just fine.

The tenth anniversary is a good occasion to look back at how much Agust D has changed since 2016. The first mixtape was very personal and direct. Through the songs, Yoongi talked about his ambitions, fears, anger, and everything he was going through, with no need to soften any of it.

Four years later came D-2. With it we got "Daechwita," one of his best-known solo tracks, but also "People," which shows a completely different side of that album. Even then, you could hear how much had changed since the first mixtape.

The third chapter of the story arrived in 2023 with the album D-DAY. It completed the trilogy made up of Agust D, D-2, and D-DAY, built over seven years. The album was followed by SUGA | Agust D TOUR D-DAY, the first solo world tour by a BTS member, where Yoongi wove songs from all three releases into a single show.

From "Agust D" and "The Last," through "Daechwita" and "People," to "Haegeum" and "AMYGDALA," a lot has changed over those seven years. Today marks ten years since the mixtape that started it all.
