BTS Said Goodbye to South America in Brazil and Held a Joint Live
November 1, 2026
BTS played the final concert of the South American leg of the ARIRANG tour in São Paulo on October 31. Over three nights, Brazilian ARMY enjoyed special songs, dance surprises and moments that are still being talked about. Jungkook made sure the crowd's reactions were extra loud on the last night, and after the concert all seven members gathered for a Weverse Live to say goodbye to South America together.
Brazilian dances and a different take on “IDOL”
At the MorumBIS stadium the members had a great time with the audience. During “Butter” they tried popular Brazilian dance moves, the passinho do Jamal and the ombrinho do Paquetá, and V delighted ARMY with his Portuguese phrases. Among them were “Posso falar?” (May I say something?) and “Papo reto” (I'm telling you straight).
The performance of “IDOL” looked different too. Instead of the usual IDOL Walk, during which the members walk among the audience, BTS stayed on stage and performed the choreography.
The change sparked debate because complaints about an overcrowded stadium had already appeared during the first concert. Some of the audience reported problems getting in, and the large crowds raised the question of whether the IDOL Walk could have been done safely at all.
There were also suspicions that too many tickets had been sold, but the organizer maintains that the permitted capacity was not exceeded. It has not been officially confirmed that the crowds were the reason for the change.
So the audience got something different: the chance to see all seven members together in the choreography for “IDOL,” instead of their usual walk around the stadium.
Six surprise songs, and “Ddaeng” to finish
For each of the three concerts, BTS prepared two special songs, and the selection covered different periods of their career.
| Date | Surprise songs |
|---|---|
| October 28 | “Black Swan” (2020) and “Silver Spoon (Baepsae)” (2015) |
| October 30 | “Airplane Pt. 2” (2018) and “I NEED U” (2015) |
| October 31 | “Ddaeng” (2018) and “Cypher Pt. 3: Killer” (2014) |
The last night was especially welcome for fans of BTS's earlier hip-hop songs. During “Ddaeng,” V joined in rapping Suga's part, and “Cypher Pt. 3: Killer” offered another chance for RM, Suga and j-hope to show their energy on stage.
Among the surprise songs was also “I NEED U,” which holds a special place in the group's history. It was this song that brought BTS their first win on a Korean music show in 2015.
Jungkook had one more surprise for the last night
During the final concert, Jungkook opened his jacket and showed his abs, to the delight of the audience. After all the shows in South America, he chose Brazil to show the results of his training.
The moment quickly drew a lot of attention on social media, and it turned out that the other members didn't miss the chance to comment on it either.
Brazilian jerseys for the farewell
For the final part of the last concert, RM, Suga, j-hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook wore Brazil national football team jerseys, while RM and Jin also wore feathered headdresses.
In his farewell address, V recalled how much Brazil means to him and how much he had looked forward to seeing the local audience again. He thanked ARMY for the warm welcome and expressed a wish to return as soon as possible.
A joint live full of laughter, teasing and honest messages
After the concert, all seven members joined a Weverse Live. They talked about the shows, their impressions of South America and the moments that stayed with them most.
Of course, they didn't skip Jungkook's surprise either. Jimin revealed that Jungkook had trained long and hard to prepare for that moment. j-hope recalled with a laugh that Jungkook had said at the very start of the South American leg that he would show the results of his training in Brazil.
There were also more emotional topics. RM recalled the banners he had seen in the audience, especially the messages from people who had waited ten years for them. j-hope admitted that such messages always touch him.
Jimin then spoke about how grateful he is for the love BTS receives around the world, admitting that it is sometimes hard for him to understand why so many people love them.
Jin immediately told him to simply accept that love with gratitude, and Suga added some advice to have a little more confidence. RM joked by asking Jimin whether he still thinks the whole world is making fun of him. The conversation soon turned into cheerful teasing, and Jimin finally told the others, laughing, to leave him alone.
The members also talked about how much it means to them to be able to perform around the world again. Jimin explained that they wanted to extend the tour precisely so they could visit as many countries as possible and meet ARMY, who have been waiting for them for a long time.
A promise to end on
With the concerts in São Paulo, BTS finished the South American leg of the tour, during which they performed in Bogotá, Lima, Santiago, Buenos Aires and São Paulo.
At the end of the joint live, Jin thanked everyone who had waited for their return. He said he would take the memories of South America with him and promised that BTS would come back.
After the final concerts, the shared laughter and all the messages exchanged with ARMY, it was a particularly lovely way to say goodbye to the continent that welcomed them with so much love.
